SO, WHO ARE WE?
Anna & Bex_Feb 2022_Navy_SoMe size.jpg

Hate faceless brands and wonder if they're really small businesses with real humans and all? Us too!

We're Anna and Rebecca, two sisters who live in Hampshire in the UK and we've been running clothing design brands for some time now.

As well as running Hey Lola we also use the same high quality products across our two sister brands;

Woof and Me, for dog lovers, is an established favourite in the doggy world;

Wild Whinny, for horse lovers features stable-wear for horse-lovers like us.

Check out our reviews on Trustpilot for guaranteed quality!

We're passionate about design, about fun, about kids (and dogs and horses) but most importantly, about small business in the UK.

In uncertain and difficult times - it's great to support British brands and we do the same in return by sourcing all of our stock in the UK. So you can buy with confidence and know that you are truly supporting the UK economy!

Hey Lola is the home of British Small Business Fashion. From Women's Hoodies, Kid's Hoodies, Women's Sweatshirts and Kid's Sweatshirts to Prints and more - we know you will find something that you love amongst our collections.

BOWEL CANCER AND HEY LOLA ...

THE NEXT UPDATE WE NEVER WANTED TO POST

FRIDAY 9 JUNE 2023  (by Anna)

What can we say? We have made the heartbreaking decision to close indefinitely from Monday 12th June. We've kept our doors open for as long as we can, but sadly right now it is not possible for us to continue being open for business on a daily basis.

We promised you an update on Bex and you've probably noticed that we have been very quiet for some time on Social Media.

I'm afraid it isn't good news. It's actually really heartbreaking news and we are trying to come to terms with this - although honestly, we're not sure how you come to terms with being given 6-12 months to live at aged 40. Bex's bowel cancer (an absolute b@stard of a rare cancer called BRAF) has defied the latest round of chemo and has spread to yet another location and Bex is not eligible for surgery. She has a couple more treatment options to extend life; she's currently on the first one which was patient-pioneered by Dame Deborah James, who had the exact same cancer.

We're clearly heartbroken by the situation and having to close the business we love, at least for now.

We will be open this weekend for orders, but we will be closing checkout on Monday morning.

We need to run some Sample/Clearance Sales as one-off events, which will allow us to clear our stocks. Running our stock down this way enables us to cover our ongoing costs and to staff-up for the event. It will be done when we have some clear gaps in treatment. We hope that the first of these will be within the next few weeks and you will get an email as soon as the doors are open for the event, after which we will close again.

All current orders will be fulfilled as usual.

I'm clearly biased as she's my little sister but I couldn't be more proud of the human being that is Bex. She's an amazing sister, daughter, wife, mother and friend - loved by everyone who meets her. And I know you all agree that she is an amazing designer too.

Thank you all so much for your support and your beautiful messages.

THE UPDATE WE NEVER WANTED TO POST

MONDAY 22 AUGUST 2022 (by Anna)

This is the update I never wanted to post. Late last week, we received the devastating news that Bex's Bowel Cancer has returned and spread and is now incurable. Further, her husband has also been diagnosed with cancer and we are awaiting his prognosis.

As such, orders are facing some delays as we travel together to treatment and other appointments on some days.

Along with a family friend, I have set up a fundraiser for Bex, which can be found here.

Thank you all so much for your support and your beautiful messages.

JANUARY 2021 & ON ...

Shortly after we came back to work in early January, Bex was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, at age 37. It has greatly impacted the last two years of our business, with Bex recovering from multiple surgeries and chemo, and Anna running Hey Lola single-handedly for much of 2021 and into 2022.

The great news is that Bex is now Cancer-free and back working. We are really excited to start this new, healthier chapter and we've moved into new premises, too!

We are still raising money for Cancer Research UK, with our ongoing Chin Up range. If you are on Instagram, please give Bex a follow at @heybowelcancer - she would love your support and is committed to continually publicising her journey to help raise awareness.
